I still have all my hot wheels/matchbox cars someplace at my parents. I'm sure once I have kids, they'll get plenty of use again.

I'm usually about a month between receiving and replying. If I get a letter from someone new, that jumps to the front of the reply pile for the initial reply, then goes back to the normal rotation for the next letter from that person.

I like the bioluminescent stamps, and I'm looking forward to the Year of the Dog stamps. I've been picking up extra sheets of the Chinese New Year stamps so I can use them next time that year rolls around.

I've used Wordpress before, so I know some.

I don't remember how many of you mentioned Pilot Iroshizuku inks, but I love them. They are pricey, but oh so juicy. They are cheaper now. The bottles are no longer handmade, so now you can pick up the 50mL bottle for about $20 USD. Still the same bottle design, but mass produced instead of handmade.

Cross Violet is very close in color to Lamy Dark Lilac, and is available at a reasonable price, not ridiculous FOMO Ebay markup prices.
My favorite colors tend to be blue, and Bung Box Sapphire is one of my top inks, but I can go down a list of colors to try out.
Blue: Bung Box Sapphire, Akkerman #5 Shocking Blue Green: KWZ Green #2, Montblanc Irish Green (these two are very similar in color) Purple: Lamy Dark Lilac, Diamine Bilberry Brown: Montblanc Toffee Brown, Pelikan Edelstein Smoky Quartz Orange: Sailor Apricot, Bung Box Tangerine/Fresh Oranges

I just keep a simple small notebook near where my letter writing stuff is, and it just says something like: Date: Oct 31 2017 (date page was flipped to) Oct 31 Herman in <- Lily out -> Nov 2 Herman out -> Nov 3 Marilyn in (postcard) <-
I don't know why I redundantly do in/out and arrows but I guess it works. If I get lost I will go back and manually find the ins with no outs and write a little catchup list in a box. I make a note if it's special, like a postcard or a 5Q5L (which don't always become continuing correspondences). I like this idea, I might have to move to something more like this.

We had just bought a house, and I was tired of finding only bills coming in the mail. I wanted to look forward to getting the mail every day, and put my fountain pens to good use. Now I'm always finding great mail to enjoy, and my fountain pens get tons of use.

If I have some free time at work, I sometimes will start a letter then, but the majority of my letter writing is done in the evening at home. Sometimes its just me, but other times I'll write while we are playing cards.

In October, @letterletter on IG puts together a Blue Ghost Postcard exchange. I did it last year, and it was quite fun getting "blank" postcards in the mail.

My post office somehow had them, and I snagged two sheets. They are very cool stamps.

I've been taking the train when I have to go to NYC for work. Nice to relax for 4.5 hours and get deposited almost where I need to be, instead of having to deal with NYC traffic and paying $1000s for parking. But I can't write on the train. I've found it is too shaky to be able to write, which is a bummer because I'd love to be able to write a letter while on the train. Do you think you could type on a computer on the train ride? I've often wondered if a train would be any good for writing letters and you're the first person who appears to have tried that I have found. I can't write in a car going down the highway but haven't tried to type on a keyboard yet. Mostly because I don't travel a lot by car unless on vacation and I detest taking a laptop with me on my vacations. When I do take one I lock it in the trunk to only be used in emergencies. Yep, computer is ok. The Amtrak train has wifi(via cellular network) and power, so getting work done on the train is something that usually happens. I have no problem typing on the laptop while on the train.

I went looking for a post box when I was traveling by train recently and had time at an interchange to mail a letter I had written on the three hour plus first leg... I have been tempted lately to take the train to Chicago rather than drive just so I can write letters. The issue is that it's just not convenient. I'm spoiled by being able to drive there myself and park where I want to. But to use that three hours for something other than shaking my fist at other drivers would be a plus! Nice to relax for 4.5 hours and get deposited almost where I need to be, instead of having to deal with NYC traffic and paying $1000s for parking. But I can't write on the train. The US will be getting a new global forever stamp next month - a succulent. I really like the moon, massive improvement over the wreaths prior, but these succulent stamps look great.
