Mia: definitely not! Aug 7, 2020 0:48:55 GMT
Gilly: It was 'only' 19c here in Alnwick yesterday but SO muggy...I was absolutely sweltering in my payments booth! Thankfully a breezy afternoon cooled the air a touch to make it more bearable :)) Aug 7, 2020 6:01:55 GMT
Gilly: Utter madness here in Northumberland! Tourist numbers up by 25% as folks holiday here instead of abroad. The towns are absolutely heaving!!! Welcome cash for businesses I guess but the way folk are acting as tho' CV-19 has gone away is scary! :-X Aug 7, 2020 6:10:36 GMT
ginny: - we don't have tourists in my town, but the week before last, the exam period at university finished. The partying, drinking & smooching was unbelievable. The virus is still there, folks (sometimes I despair!!!)... Aug 7, 2020 7:41:29 GMT
Mia: warming up Aug 7, 2020 17:14:58 GMT
Gilly: Hot, sunny & muggy here today....quick visit to allotment then staying in till it cools down. Intending to write 3 letters this weekend, possibly more :)) Aug 8, 2020 10:30:23 GMT *
Catida: Warm weather has reached Finland too. +27c today. Went swimming, possibly for the last time this summer. They are promising thunder for tomorrow, and then it should get colder again. Aug 8, 2020 19:23:58 GMT
ole: We usually have 20 degrees difference between night and day. We've had 28-30C up until a few days ago, which means 8C - 10C at night. Now it's not so warm and I'm expecting 5C in the night. My garden doesn't like it! Aug 9, 2020 2:29:25 GMT
Gilly: I woke up at 4.45am today and it was 16c! Today is cloudy so lightly cooler :)) Thunderstorm warnings for Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday...I have Wed/Thurs & Friday off this week so if it's raining I'll be writing letters :nanowrimo: Aug 9, 2020 10:46:19 GMT *
PhotoJim: Ole, our weather is not too different from yours. this week's normals are a high of 28 and a low of 12. Aug 10, 2020 1:46:29 GMT
Mia: drenched. I did try to go live on instagram and then share to story... but I'm not sure if it made it up.. Aug 10, 2020 16:40:27 GMT
ole: PhotoJim, ah yes, Regina, I've heard of harsh weather there. I'm in the mountains, but I think the similar thing is that we're far from the ocean which civilizes the weather. Aug 10, 2020 20:36:55 GMT
mistero: : it's like a dream. Now I am more and more fantasing about spending holiays in England. 31 here :( Aug 11, 2020 8:44:36 GMT *
Gilly: Currently 25.1c (11.05am Tuesday) and looking at the rainfall radar it's VERY thundery inland at Rothbury but seems to be on course to completely miss Alnwick :-/ You need to come north Julien....London is too hot (34c for 4th day in a row!) ;-| Aug 11, 2020 10:07:48 GMT
Gilly: I know a lot of folk still insist that the climate isn't changing but we DO seem to be getting a LOT more hot summers, milder winters and torrential rains....and not forgetting fires in Australia & USA. Its certainly hotter than I remember it in the 80's! Aug 11, 2020 10:10:01 GMT
Mia: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-53735832 Aug 11, 2020 12:57:23 GMT
ginny: Again, 34°C here. I can hear thunder in the distance, though - I hope it will bring rain and a cooldown (forecast promises hot weather for tomorrow, so yeah... fat chance my hope will become true...) :rain: Aug 11, 2020 13:57:19 GMT
penguy: Rain the other night. Everyone was commenting on the almost continuous light show provided by lightning that went on almost continually for several hours. Even made the news! Aug 11, 2020 15:11:14 GMT
ole: We seem to be pretty much on track for the effects of global warming here. We've just had a hot spell - that's normal. But most of the year has definitely been a lot colder on average. Normality is a gonner. Aug 11, 2020 19:54:44 GMT
