Let's start things rolling. Do you collect stamps?

I kinda cheated. I inherited a stamp collection from my great-grandfather. He started collecting when he was a kid and collected his entire life. A huge assortment of stamps from all over the world, with some dating back into the 1800s. I haven't done much with the collection yet other than removing stamps from envelopes and flipping through the books.

I collect, but in what is called topical fashion. That is, I collect stamps on a particular topic. The only one I've kept pretty much up to date on is baseball on stamps, though I'm thinking about looking into letter writing on stamps.

I keep some in a notebook but just for fun, to look at, not a real collection that would ever be worth anything.

I have stamps in box that are not organized. Most of the stamps are the 80's and 90' letters I had received. Since I have been writing letters, postcards, they have all been saved with the stamped envelope.

I have storage box and some stockbooks. I had a world-builder album and those horrid licky hinges!

Like sgtstretch I also inherited a collection that I delight in browsing from time to time. I diligently cut-out and save all stamps received, but they merely go into a holding envelope and I have another stack from a year or two I spent doing postcrossing. But philately is on my growing list for when a) I stop working and b) I have a space where I can leave stuff out and find it still there, intact, when I return to it several days later.

I don't collect them in any sort of official way... but I have cigar boxes full of them. I love seeing different stamps on letters and postcards but never remove them from those. I just enjoy them, have no organization to them at all though.

Kind of...that is, I get a bunch of stamps that take my eye on eBay but then feel driven to use them on correspondence. This year I bought a batch of attractive 37¢ stamps to use on Christmas postcards.

I used to collect stamps when I was a child - usually animal-themed ones as that was my main interest in life I was given a packet of mixed stamps about four years ago and there were loads of bird and animal ones in there which I still have in various packets and envelopes in my spare briefcase under my bed. I often mean to get a nice scrapbook to display them in as some of them are stunning artwork

I actually bought some stamps from a charity shop this week. I will have to have a sort through in the new year.

I collect only in the sense of enjoying stamps that come on letters. I pull them off carefully and keep them in a little book in my Hobonichi cover. Very fun to peruse through them. Being a real collector is appealing to me, too.

I don't know yet, I have an old family stamp collection, but I just started snail mailing recently again, and I don't know yet if I want to keep collecting them.
