The cards have been sent home with the students. Charlie ended up receiving 90 pieces addressed to her personally. She has decided she wants to write thank you cards/postcards to everyone who included a return address but it will take a while as she has to decide on what she's sending and 5 year olds need everything to be just right. It will also take her some time as I don't think she'll enjoy signing her own name again and again 90 times.

Thanks bunches tramplingrose I wasn't sure if anyone would come up with South Dakota. Population's about 150 for the entire state from what I hear and a good portion of those are suffering from "Prairie Madness" caused by the incessant winds howling around their dugouts. Maybe that was Kansas though.

Thanks, distractedmom that would be great. It appears I need to recruit more pen pals in certain states. I could probably get 50 cards from Minnesota but am shocked I have no pen pals in Kansas or New Jersey or North or South Carolina.

Hmmmm…….Would a card be welcomed from a friendly neighbour, like Canada? Absolutely! I didn't try to ask my Canadian pen pal as I have no way to get word to her other than via a letter so the time frame just made it all unfeasible to get a card to Oklahoma anytime soon. I know the class has had offers to send cards from Germany, the UK and Australia so far so Canada would be a great addition. I think the teacher plans to use the locations the cards come from as teaching moments so you Canadians wouldn't want to be left out, hey? Even if there were to be other Canadians you guys have provinces which are like big, overgrown states so there would be a chance the cards came from different provinces inside the country.

Would sending a card from an island in Queensland, Australia be acceptable? Absolutely! It'll arrive mid June most likely but it's the thought that counts, right? These kids will appreciate the card whenever it actually arrives and hopefully I'm just a pessimistic soul when it comes to Autralia Post

Sweden would be great! The more the merrier is an old saying and when it comes to Valentine's cards it's certainly true. The kids will be excited to add yet another country to their collection.

If any of you who are sending cards would like a thank you postcard please mark your card with some notation where you saw the post. LWACS, Lettermo, AWoSM, etc. or simply post here on the message boards that you mailed one. I'll recognize the names and addresses of a lot of folks I'm sure but a few of you lurkers might have me scratching my head trying to figure out if it's friends, family or some Facebook person who saw the posts my daughter put up initially.
