Hello ! Stamps are also a big part of penpalling. I don't know if you do, but I love to buy nice stamps ! I sometimes even look at some USA stamps online and think about my next holidays, me using it. So : what do the last stamps you buy look like ? What is it about? My last France-to-France stamps are very brown, and they depict plates. They are 12 different, and they are kind of unusual, because they are square-shaped, as most of the time stamps here are rectangular. They look like this : May I discover new stamps !

I usually pop into my local post office when Neil gets paid on 15th of each month and after I've paid the monthly bills (rent/council tax/tv licence etc) I'll ask if they have any 'specials' (the stamps with fancy pics on as opposed to the normal UK ones with the Queen on *sorry Ma'am* ) Last month Sandra had some Marvel super heroes left over from March so I got a dozen of those as they're lovely and colourful www.onepostoffice.co.uk/secure/latest-news/our-products/a-marvel-ous-opportunity/ This month, October, I picked up some Gruffalo ones

I still have some lovely Chrysanthemums from year of the Monkey and Peace Roses for US mail. My global stamps are green- I will need more next week.

The last stamps that I purchased were First Moon Landing commemoratives. There are two types on a page, one is an image of the moon (silver on black) and the other is the image of an astronaut in silver with color in the face plate. There are some other stamps that I have enjoyed; the dragon stamps with the orange foil, the shimmery bioluminescent life stamps, and the airmail commemorative that had the look and feel of having been printed from an engraved plate.
Some of my international pen friends enjoy stamps that aren't the usual international stamp so I use two forevers and a 5 cent stamp.

Sadly, I let my husband choose the US stamps while I was unready to leave my country. I'm trying to compensate with homemade envelopes. I found two US 29-cent Al Hirschfeld illustrated postage stamps of silent screen stars but am reluctant to use them. I've curled my toes in awe at the vintage stamps penfriends consciously place on mail coming to me.
I am eager to buy the domestic-use Leonard Cohen stamps my Canada Post kiosk currently sells though. Canada Post offers a 50-year commemorative coin of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's visit "peace bed-in" in Montreal.

The last stamps I bought were the same First Moon Landing commemoratives as penguy bought.... those are really nice. I looked at the USPS release of the 2020 stamps and there are only one or two sets that I'm really interested in, plus I bought a bunch of stamps this year that I didn't intend to. I'll be happy to use up what I've got. If I'm traveling I'll usually take what they can give me, and people are happy that they're not getting a stamp they're used to seeing. I'll try to pick out decent ones if I have the opportunity though.

Some lower denomination stamps. Supposedly nothing larger than 20 cents but I'm hoping it doesn't run heavy to 15 and 20 cent varieties as I already have scads of those.

It’s been a couple of years since I bought stamps from Canada Post. Instead, I buy mint not hinged stamps from EBay. They usually come in random assortments of images; some are quaintly old and can date back decades, even to the mid and early 1900’s (boy, it makes me feel really old to describe stamps from my long ago youth as quaintly old). And a welcome bonus is that they seldom cost as much as their face value, and are tax free!

I bought some Dragon stamps and Seasame Street stamps for my sister (she’s getting back into Postcrossing and asked for pretty stamps for Christmas since she’s too ill to get to the post office herself). Also bought another 2 sheets of the 5 cent grape stamps, too. (For me and her). Really, there’ve been some great stamps this year. It was hard to choose.

I bought some 10p stamps today. They go nicely with a 5p, and two first class stamps for most of my international mail. I have a variety of different first class stamps I can use. First class stamps are the equivalent of US Forever stamps domestically.

Bought these online from Denali stamp co to provide return international postage for someone to return a model release. linkTo provide some variety on letters I mail abroad, I use the $1.00, 10-cent, and 5-cent stamps instead of the Forever Stamp.
