Do any of you have much experience with MonteVerde? I have two colors: Olivine and Fire Opal. I love both colors but I get so much ink creepage and crud that I find myself not wanting to use them. Does this happen to any of you?

I've tried a few Monteverde inks. They are pretty nice, I have a bottle of California Teal, and its really well behaved. I did recently try a sample of Fire Opal, and I had crust issues also, somewhat typical of orange inks.

I love MV inks. They're my new favorite, and there are about 8 bottles on my shelf, Olivine among them. No crud so far. Moonstone is an amazing stealth color.

I have Horizon Blue in my work pen, Sapphire in another, and I have tried the Capri Blue. All perform great.

no probs with California teal or horizon blue. haven't had a chance to test the two you mention but I have 'em. Maybe olivine in the new M120 Iconic Blue? Curious about the fire opal, maybe a Pilot Explorer. Nib creep can take a while. SBRE Brown is crusting up nicely in an E95 but it took many months to start doing that. It's pretty orangey. I should probably just flush and refill even if it is LE ink (it's a big bottle).

I love California teal as well and I think you have to use it in a quality pen or will mess with the quality of the ink . at least that is what my exp has been .

How well the cap seals is definitely going to have an effect, more so if you don't use a fill a week. I have the teal in a Sheaffer VFM, dunno if that's particularly high quality;)

I have a big bottle of Napa Burgundy and it's GORGEOUS!!!!
Can't comment on how it behaves if left in a pen, though, as I'm "saving it for best"!! I promised to empty a couple of nearly empty bottles of boring colours before I started seriously on the Monteverde. I'm down to one little bottle of the mixed remains of Waterman Violet Tendresse and Waterman Bleu Serenite. THe result is quite pretty, so when I've finished with that, I can use some of the Monteverde. And the Herbin Orange Indien and Pelikan Aventurine that Santa brought me......

I have never finished an entire bottle. I think the most I have used of a bottle is about 1/3.
