Writing a letter for me normally is done at one sitting. But, there are letters that have taken me at least three days, usually a long letter (8-10 pages). And sometimes I'm interrupted writing a letter and have to get back to finishing it the next day. How long does it take you to write a letter and does it depend on the letter's length?

I usually do most letters in one session, too. Usually, it takes around 60-ish minutes for 2-4 pages (of full sized paper, in my tiny writing). Sometimes it take a little longer, though. Definitely slightly longer when I’m using my dip pen, although I’ve gotten pretty fast at that, too, now. But some penpals I write with, write 15-30 page letters (most notably my favorite long-time German penpal), and replies to those letters are often 2-3 day affairs. Thank goodness letter writing is so fun.

With two daughter's who absorb most of my time and energy during their waking hours it seems as if any attempt to do anything for me is an eternity. Books, letters, television binges and just plain trying to use the restroom in privacy.

I work a 4/10 shift (4 days at 10 hours each), and am exhausted by the time I get home, so my letters are multiple-day affairs. I work on them during my breaks and lunch hours. Sometimes I’ll work on them over the weekends, but I have a couple penpals who routinely get 8-10 page responses, so those take a few hours at best. I also like to spend time with my family, so it’s almost easier to write while I’m at work.

Normally I do a letter in one sitting but today, responding to my friend in Neuenstein has taken me 2 sittings already and it is still not finished. But, in my defense, I am trying out a new script so I have had to focus a lot.

I really like finishing letters in one siting. I‘m quite a fast writer I guess. When I write a very long letter, I choose a day on which I have nothing else to do. Then I still get to finish it in one go (with breaks).

I write letters with a fountain or dip pen and my non-dominant right hand (everything else with my left), so it takes me at least a couple of hours for any regular letter.

I tend to write three/four pages (both sides) and a letter takes on average two, occasionally three, hours Tomorrow, Monday 13th, is forecast wet and as I don't start work until 7pm it's going to be a letter writing day I may get two done wooohooo

Some letters I can write in one session, others take longer.

I prefer to finish a letter in one sitting (1 to 2 hours depending on how long the letter is). I often write in the evening when the rest of the house is settled in for the night so I have fewer interruptions.

If you see strange lights in the sky, it probably means I've written a letter in one sitting.
Rare events aside, it usually takes me several sittings, sometimes across a few days if the B&B is busy. And then there's the decorating of the missive to consider..................

It takes me about 1/2 hour to write one page of about 220 words. Thinking about and composing that page probably takes me another 1/2 hour. I usually craft my letters over the course of a few days. And I write longish letters. I spend a lot of time with my correspondence....

Most times, a lot! Maybe I don't want to know how slow I am, not now that I am so behind with correspondence. I am currently writing a letter which I composed in my mind in early summer and started writing on 10th October. Yesterday it was the third sitting and I wanted to write my friend that I have a writer's block :-D well, this is probably among my negative records! Sometimes I write a letter in one sitting only, then it could take a couple of hours, maybe less, including interruptions and everything, but usualy times are longer.
