Question: I ordered a set of postcards off Amazon, and they were listed as 4x6 (101.6mm x 152.4mm). However, when they arrived, they were more like 3.75x5 (94mm x 130mm). Can I mail that size postcard to Europe, or is it too small? European friends, have you successfully received a postcard that size?
I really like these cards, and I'll be sad if I can't use them outside the US. But I'd rather know before try to send them.
Thanks ahead of time for the help!

The German postal services officially indicates 140 mm x 90 mm as minimum size, and the length must be at least 1.4-times the width.

I think that would be OK. There is a minimum size for Royal Mail (but should be fine coming into the UK if your postal authority is happy with the size) - 90 x 140mm so slightly different to your dimensions.
I had a very quick look in one of my Postcrossing boxes - received a card 140 x 95mm (Indonesia) and a postcard from India a few millimetres smaller in both dimensions. Smallest card I can find so far is 95 x 110mm from Malaysia (however, that one doesn't even have a Happy Postcrossing on, just my address, the date written and the postcard ID, and two nice stamps for postage).
If you are worried, and the recipient prefers (or is happy) to receive it in an envelope...

Yeah, so I knew it was smaller than the minimum for most European countries, but I wasn't sure if the minimum applied only to sending in that country, or receiving too. Maybe I'll send a "test" one. Anyone in Europe want a postcard, who is willing to let me know if it makes it successfully (or not) after it arrives? Sounds like it should work in the UK. I still kinda wonder about the other countries.

Also, thanks a bunch Mia, for taking the time to check for, and actually measure your cards. I appreciate it, for sure!

Thanks everyone! I think I will send one out to you, Lianne, to test it out. It will go out in today's mail.

It has arrived!! Did it really take 10 days? That would be quite long, right? NL-USA is usually quicker, isn't it?

No, I wasn't in time for the mail pickup on Saturday, and there was no mail Sunday or Monday (Columbus Day), so it actually went out on Tuesday morning (the 10th). So that makes it 7 days which is much more reasonable, I think. But that last letter from you just arrived yesterday, and it looked like the postmark may have said the 27th, which would be something like 20 days? I was surprised at that. Thanks for letting me know the postcard made it! I can rest easy now about using those ones.

Ah okay, 7 days is still acceptable I guess.
I don't remember when I sent the letter you just received, what date did I write in the letter itself?

The letter was dated Sept 25, and the postmark looked like it may have said 27. I'm pretty sure most of your letters don't take nearly that long, but I'm not 100% sure. Maybe this one just got delayed somewhere along the line.
Anyway, thanks again for being my guinea pig!
(Edit: does that translate? Thanks for being my test subject)

I knew the expression I usually mail off my letters within 3 days, so the 27th could be perfectly right. In that case it did travel for a long time!!
