I'm envious of the great stamps you all have.
I need to sit down and calculate international postage in domestic stamps so I can send you all fun stamps. The globe is getting pretty boring. I currently have Elvis and Maya Angelou for domestic mail.

I currently have Elvis and Maya Angelou for domestic mail. You can use 2 First Class stamps and the additional ounce stamps (currently penguins) to make up the international rate. (47 + 47 + 21 = $1.15) You can also use 1 first class stamp and 1 Butterfly stamp (non-machineable rate) to make up the international rate. (47 + 68 = $1.15)
I also buy discount postage (Below face value) on ebay and just do all sorts of stamp math.

Haven't tried the discount postage yet; I looked once and the lots were a big large for me. When I'm out of globals I usually just put on three 1st class ($1.41) and figure it's worth the extra 20% or so to help the USPS. If I have a postcard stamp ($1.28), it's down to 10% extra. At current rates, if I have two postcard stamps, it's exact.
If I buy a bunch more postcard stamps, they'll change the rates so that I'm a few cents short.
What kills me is that, for US to Canada, even for a postcard, you have to pay the full $1.15 1st class international letter rate. Georgetown, Ontario, is much closer to me than even Chicago. I guess the flip side of overpaying for that, is that I'm getting a great deal when mailing Victoria, New South Wales.

The stamp issue was popular today, with the 2 post offices I visited selling lots of stamps this morning for it. Didn't get all the stamps I initially planned for, stocking up mainly on one of the first class issues.
