May is here but I only just changed my wall calendar, having to turn 2 pages because it had an extra April in! April was National Card and Letter Writing Month, started last year by the US Postal Service but it wasn't promoted this year. However, another project, write on was promoted for April. Due to being under the weather at the start of last month, I was unable to do the challenge and attract new members from there to the forum. I still haven't ordered photo prints of 6x4 pictures (a couple of them have a set of 3 smallish bookmarks in) advertising snailmail in general. A thought just popped into my head - what about business card sized adverts for encouraging snailmail (to be slipped into library books on return, or put up on noticeboards..) or promoting this forum (to enclose with letters to non-members, perhaps)? This then gets me onto logos and banners. Initial ideas - spinning globe with a stationary stamped letter in the middle; snail carrying a letter over the globe; banner featuring stamps, pens, letters, envelopes, wax seals, anything postal... I'm no graphic artist (prefer photography) so I haven't been able to perfect anything yet.
I've opened the German section. Remembering something from another penpal website, there was the option to find language exchange partners. Is this something to consider for A World of Snail Mail?
In about 2 months' time, this forum will (I hope) be celebrating its first anniversary. I'm still looking for ideas and suggestions as to how to develop this site.
To new members: Communication is an important part of this forum, whether it is in the discussions or the other sections. Please introduce yourself, if you haven't already, and also welcome at least some of the other members.
