Has anyone heard anything about InCoWriMo 2023? I am trying to plan an event at my library, but if there's no site for people to easily find addresses, it's going to be hard to promote it. Of course, I will send people here, but some won't want to put in the effort to create a profile. I'd welcome any of your thoughts and ideas!

After last year's success in writing and relative disappointment in replies from surprise/new letters (though voiren is fantastic!), I may go with postcards this year and be open to letters. The intro you write on the site seems to matter a lot when it comes to getting letters.

There's LetterMo, in hands of people who care about snail mail, but the site set up isn't perhaps optimal. I have some great penfriends via LetterMo, as well as Inco and here!
As for Inco 2023... well, who knows at the moment; the site was updated in early January this year and last, but late in the month in a previous year or two. Postcrossing is a great thing (are there many places to get postcards around your area? if so, then you could go with that).
I still haven't got my brain in gear... otherwise perhaps we could host something here.. maybe along the 5Q lines.

Well why don't we start in here, our own InCoLetterMo and write to each other or new people who are live on this site that we haven't written to.

Well why don't we start in here, our own InCoLetterMo and write to each other or new people who are live on this site that we haven't written to. It's a good idea in theory, but the February writing site space is too crowded as it is. There were at least four different sites participating last year, and that's not including us. If anything I would not sponsor something in February as a site. We're just a drop in the bucket then. I think Snail Mail September/October would be a differentiator and get more eyes.

I suppose that Postcrossing is a great way to get started on fun snail mail - but of course, you don't really get into a conversation that way, unless you participate in the forums (where you can also look for penpals, as I've been told). Postcrossing, of course, is a year-round thing, so that makes it easier to start with. distractedmom, you could also point people to this site: thereadingresidence.com/bring-back-paper/ Jocelyn, the owner of this, has a youtube channel where she comes up with all sorts of ideas for snailmailing (link is on the site), and apparently she runs a Facebook group, too. Many people will have a Facebook account, anyway, so that might be a good place for them to start. Hosting something here, Mia, sounds like a fun idea. Something like '5 random things about yourself' might work - so it's not that people post 5 questions, but that they simply say they're interested in getting to know someone new, and the people who write to them tell them 5 (or whatever you think is a suitable number) random things that make them peculiar / stand out / special - whatever word you prefer.

Thank you all for your input. My current plan is to cover all kinds of letter-writing topics, from epistolary novels (since I work at the library) to postcards, letter-writing and mail art. And then I will share places to find pen pas and my over-abundance of stationery supplies and encourage them to write a letter.
