If the seashells say "postcard" then I believe they are forever, and track the current postcard rate. Same, I think, for "additional ounce". The international ones definitely are "forever". The fox ones that I like are fixed denomination, sadly. According to the USPS web site your interpretation is correct in that the term "Postcard" on the stamp is equivalent to "Forever" at least after the coastal birds postcard stamp issue. Not sure where the seashell variety fell in the timeline though. The "additional ounce" and "two ounce" stamps are also Forever stamps so increase in value as postal rates climb.
*Edit: It would appear seashells issue came out in 2017 after the shore birds issue did in 2015 so, yes, in fact they are considered Forever stamps as well.

The seashells stamps DO say “postcard”. 🤔 But when I took my 3 postcards to the counter with the seashell postcard stamps on them, I was told I needed to add 4 cents more postage on each card. 🤨 What the… ?? I have a lot of seashell postcard stamps and need to figure this out

Maybe print off that particular section and take it to your local post office branch and show them what the official word on the subject is. They can look it up themselves if they need to. Often the folks working at the desk don't know all the rules themselves. You can often use it to your advantage if you like.

Shame they didn't know their own system as well as we do...

While postcard stamps are considered "Forever", and are always good for the domestic postcard rate - there are size restrictions for the postcard in order to use them. The minimum size is 3-1/2" by 5". The max size is 4" by 6-1/4". They also have to be relatively thin, so no wooden postcards (which have to be mailed at the non-machinable rate anyway).

"Stamp bag" reminds me that the way I'm storing the stamps gets in the way of using them conveniently, or even knowing what I've got. As a second step, after admitting I have a problem, I should maybe get one of whatever stamp collectors use to organize things. A binder with sheet protectors? Something thinner than a 3-ring would be nice. Maybe there's a pre-bound set of sheet... holders. Or something. Never mind about finding pens, or knowing what ink I even have. The pen organizers are generally too big, and who wants to spend pen money on storage? And ink? I think that's too niche to have established solutions. Maybe whatever knitters use to organize yarn? Assuming there are small yarn (ball?) storage... things. Or it could all just be on the shelf and I could not be so lazy and just take the whole bunch out and look at them. I saw someone on Instagram using a make-up organizer for inks. It was a lazy-susan style thing. I'll see if I can find the link (Don't worry, it was clear, not pink. )

That might work for ink samples, which would be something, but I need something rectangular that could sort out space in a drawer rather than needing (now completely covered in more than one layer) shelf space. Pink is fine. One of the reasons I can't get behind banning "gendered" products is that I loved the "transgression" of having a pink iPod Nano, and stuff like that. iPod was an awesome pink, too. Eye searing. Not quite Yama Budo. Well, maybe, bit lighter and metallic. I just got the 8-pack of the dual color Pentel metallic gel pens. Those are in the same zone, on bright-white enough paper. I do have some of the sample vial racks, the clear and white ones. Reasonably efficient, but nowhere near ziploc-bag level. I mean, I'd _love_ to have things laid out so I could see everything, but that's gonna require a major purge and reorg. Or a larger hobby area. Which, I've been told, I can certainly have if I can pay for half of a new house.
Looking up the int'l postage, for a soon to go out letter, looks like two forever letter stamps plus a bunny will work. Few cents over. No strawberries or grapes required. I skipped the school bus stamps. Too many unpleasant memories back when I had to ride on those. Wonder if the kids are any better disciplined, now.

When I saw "red fox", my mind immediately went to Redd Foxx... Honestly, I was a little disappointed when I went to the USPS site and looked at them

radellaf, and anyone else who is interested, here is the link for the make-up organizer that was shared with me on Instagram. Good news! You can get it in many colors, including pink. Make-up Organizer radellaf, I totally get the wanting to see everything. There's not enough space in my house to lay it all out. Let me know how the new home purchase goes!

I’ve lost track of what some of my stamps are worth. I thought the postcard stamps were also ‘forever’ stamps! I found out my seashell ones are only 44 cents and I don’t think they make a 4 cent stamp. I wonder if the USPS site tells what unmarked stamps are worth 🤔 I have a bunch of Robert Panera two ounce stamps and patriotic additional ounce stamps… I was just ordering stamps on the USPS website and saw this: store.usps.com/store/product/buy-stamps/coral-reefs-postcard-stamps-S_745104So it looks like they are definitely worth 48 cents now. 🙂 I think your postal clerk was just confused.
