I dream of actually writing a few letters per week whilst I'm at my lunch break or between the classes I teach, and tried various ways to bring along the things I like to have with me when I write: Several kinds of papers, envelopes, stickers, washi tapes, stamps, etc. Of course, I found it really hard to keep such supplies tidy, easy to find and, depending on the weather, dry in the little shopping bag I was using. I needed something smaller than a backpack as I already have to carry my teaching planner, laptop, tablet, cables, water bottle, journal and pencil case, plus any materials I'm using for my class, everywhere (I don't have a homeroom) - but I needed something bigger than a pencil case and with spaces to easily find and separate the different supplies. Does anyone else have this need? I'd be curious what EDC containers people here who write on the road keep with them. I recently ordered this but I'm awaiting its arrival: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07M6FDTN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1It looks like it will fit everything I want, maybe with the exception of lots of washi tapes or rolled stickers. I'll report back when it arrives!

I have been trying to write letters during my lunch hour too, but it hasn't been going as smoothly as I would like.

This isn't a problem for me... I'm retired That being said, it doesn't seem to me that one would need a lot of stuff. I mean, a couple of letters to which you intend to respond, some paper, and a writing implement. You could stuff envelopes, affix stamps, decorate with washi, apply wax seals and such later when it's more conveneient. The important (and time consuming) thing, is the actual writing of the letter. As long as you can do that, you've got enough gear for the job! As a card carrying member of the International Luddite Curmudgeonism Society, the usual disclaimers apply Cheers! mike

I guess my point then is "I want a fancy carrier" haha!

This one looks really cool and would probably do exactly the trick for me. If for any reason the one I ordered doesn't work out I'll surely try this one.

A Rhodia No 18 dot pad in a thirty-five-year old Coach® leather portfolio in a vintage Banana Republic Paratrooper's Satchel. Once in a while you can find a vintage one on eBay. In Apocalypse Now, Captain Willard used a U.S. Army-issued one to carry Colonel Kurtz's file.
If I'm driving, five or six pens come along in an Aston case.
If flying, a cartridge filler and a Waterman rollerball my colleagues gave me when the day job promoted me fifteen years ago.

I use this ArtBin storage box. I keep pens and sealing wax and butane torch in the glasses case, and use paper folders for paper, envelopes and stamps. I’ve taped fairy lights to a piece of heavy paper/poster board on the bottom for backlighting my guide sheet. I’ve placed paired strong magnets under and over the lid to slide around and hold my paper and guide sheet in place. www.flickr.com/photos/55096613@N00/shares/G66RAN
