Okay, so I just got 4 new pencils with extra boxes of leads and an eraser.
Also got 10 #1 W M Mitchell nibs with reservoirs.
Stalogy notebook came in as did a Leuchtturm and a pack of 10 Clairefontaine Europa Notebooks.

I am doing a course on Foundational Hand - have to use A3 paper for al submissions. 10 nibs is not a lot really.

Very neat. I suppose 10 isn't excessive. Do you find you wreck them or wear them out, or just like having a bunch around?

I think I have only wrecked nibs that I have had trouble getting out of holders, other wise not, I haven't wrecked them in any other way. To be fair, I can not recall a nib that I have worn out! So, I think I just like having spares around Oh, hold on, iron gall ink does damage them and I have had to replace some that have suffered such damage.

I'm definitely dealing with the Stationery addiction. I heard this bit at the end of The Nib Section podcast a few episodes ago. I have listened to it several times, so it will be in the back of my head when I get emails from pen shops. It hasn't had a chance to work yet, clearly. I have one unopened box sitting here (Sheaffer blue-black and Colorverse Depth), and one on the way from the UK's Cult Pens with about a dozen bottles. Including the new Writer's Blood. I saw that new ink and thought "I do necessarily have to buy it". I didn't. A 3rd box is now on its way with a long-backordered Robert Oster "Smokescreen". As if I need _that_ on top of at _least_ 20 untried Robert Oster bottles. A transcription: Sharon's recommendation for this week: You don't have to buy that ink. Did you know that? If you see an ink you like, you don't necessarily have to buy it. So, I spent all of 2020 without having bought a single bottle of ink. 2021? I have not technically bought any inks. I did get a new ink, which was the MB James Purdey ($80) and I know this just sounds like I'm a Mont Blanc wanker the entire time because that's all we been talking about. But it was a very interesting year ahead. So, you don't have to buy that bottle of ink. Because you will get to a situation where you're like Diana and myself, although I don't think she's had the Epiphany yet. I have had the epiphany that I have more ink than I'll ever be able to use in this entire lifetime. I could probably fill up a bathtub with the number of bottles of ink that I have. And, you're never going to get through at all. Unless you make a concerted effort to try and get through it all. And if you don't buy - for an entire year - you really help your situation because hopefully you would have knocked out a bottle or two ... very very slow progress, but you may have rediscovered inks you didn't realize you enjoyed in the past? And, for everyone who's all into the shading, the multichrome shaders, I know it's really tempting to buy them all but I swear in two years time you're going to look back and go why did I buy so many shades of tealy-aqua inks where, when I write with them, they all come out the exact same color. So, that's my fountain pen related recommendation: "Don't buy the ink." I never thought I'd say that. You don't have enough storage space for all this ink. I don't have enough storage space. Please join me in #inknobuy2021. This is the much-anticipated sequel of #inknobuy2020, which I did. Apologies for all the "So"s used as discourse markers. That's how Sharon said it. ; ) She's Australian? Maybe that's a justification.

I'm now feeling very smug, as I haven't bought any ink for years! I was given a bottle for Christmas 2020 and a bottle for Christmas 2019. I've just finished a bottle of Waterman "Bleu Mystere", so that means there's a gap in my inks drawer.......

I have been making a very concerted effort to avoid buying any more paper or stickers or washi tapes...But inks and pens have been my downfall this year. And not necessarily fountain pens (though I did just order a couple budget pens that should be here in October) - I have discovered just how much I love using Sharpie Gel Pens with Bold points for my journaling. And I have black paper that requires white/light-colored gel pens be used, so finding ones that actually show up on it has been a bit of a challenge. But I guess that’s half the fun? There are worse addictions to have.

I have purchased a veritable LOAD of stationery items in preparation for October/Halloween. I can't help myself!!! I can't wait to begin using it either! But I have a plan. I must stick to the plan.

Squeeeeeeee! Yesterday I got a box of 500 Blake's Purely Everyday C6 envelopes in Cream-100 GSM. 🥰 They are the closest I have found to the Tomoe River Cream. I got them from Amazon through Amazon UK. My stationery finally looks the way I imagined. 🥰

"There are worse addictions to have." Indeed there are tramplingrose. When I think of the thousands of dollars my husband spent on cigarettes every year for the first 20 years of our marriage, I could cry. All gone up in smoke with nothing to show for it except wrecked lungs and a heart that only half works. I can fully justify the far less amount of money I spend on colouring books, pencils, gel pens, marker pens, calligraphy inks, etc etc. because I have something to show for it, and my addiction hasn't destroyed my health

Some people collect stationery with no intention to use it... All my stationery, I do intend to use at some point..
