I want to get an aqua or turquoise ink. I was thinking about a shimmer ink but haven't tried shimmer inks before so I don't know if they have different properties (dry time, tendency to feather, etc) than other inks. Any suggestions?

Organics Studio Alanine Aqua? I love the Glycine ink, but it's medium-blue with purple sheen.

I've been reading up, and it seems that since I prefer a fine nib, a non-shimmer ink is better. I've read that shimmer inks are more likely to clog and/or less likely to show the shimmer than a wider nib. Any thoughts?

Iroshizuku by Pilot's ku-jaku. (Who loves ya, baby?) Back in the 20th century I would buy Peacock Blue Skrip cartridges for my Sheaffer No Nonsense pen. I love kon-peki and asa-gao both by Iroshizuku by Pilot, but they are closer to azure.
I wrote some of an outgoing letter to you in Caran D'Ache's "Hypnotic Turquoise" so you can see what it's like in 'real world application.'

Someone gave me a sample of Robert Oster Turquoise. I've used it in different pens and like it a lot. Well-behaved so far. I think it shades a bit, too.

Diamine Aqua Lagoon and Iroshizuku Ku-jaku are my favorite. Also Lamy Turquoise is nice, and Noodlers Navajo Turquoise is very bright and pretty.

I really enjoy Diamine Blue Steel. Or is it Steel Blue?

Robert zoster Turqoise is a lovely blue! I’d avoid the shimmer inks in a F nib. A wider nib is best for getting the best from them and I would also be concerned about them clogging.

A color I really like is Pelikan Edelstein Jade. One thing you might want to do is to go to www.gouletpens.com/pages/swab-shop. Put in turquoise and you will get a good idea of a full range of inks in that color range.

Let me get out my set of inks, as I seem to attract turquoise inks....
Iroshizuku Ku-Juku is nice, but Diamine Eau de Nil is fairly close and less than half the cost for more fluid. Both shade towards the greener side of turquoise. Sheaffer Skrip Turquoise (the modern Slovakian formulation) is lovely and will work in vintage pens. The Waterman turquoise isn’t bad either but I didn’t consider it as good. I do have a vial of Pelikan Turquoise that I haven’t tried yet... could be nice, and it should work pretty well in almost any fountain pen. Looks on the blue side of turquoise.

allanorn , I almost bought the Pelikan Turquoise, but some of the reviews on Amazon scared me away. When you try it, I would love to hear your opinion.

With nearly 5000 ratings and 96% 4 or 5 star, I think you can take the "it destroyed my pen" review with a grain of salt. Granted, that was for the Dark Green, which is the newest of the colors. If any of the ink from Waterman, Sheaffer, or Pelikan seems to damage a pen, then the pen was defective or about to fail anyway. I think some people would claim that water destroyed their pens. The biggest problem I have with (pen mfg style) turquoise ink is that it's about the least waterproof (or lightfast) thing I've ever dealt with. The only problem I have with Pelikan ink is that the red is really disappointing if you wanted something actually "red". Sheaffer has the best red, IMHO. If you like Pelikan Topaz, Iroshizuku isn't much cheaper, but the Kon-Peki is almost indistinguishable. Review comparing the two.

I bought Colorverse Map of Mars which is gorgeous, but it is a dark teal - darker and greener than I was looking for, but beautiful enough that I can't regret it. allanorn I bought the Pelikan Turquoise and it is perfect - blue green but neither too blue nor too green.
