So it looks like the USPS has released their proposed rate changes for 2021! More info is in the link below, but the highlights are: No change in price for domestic forever stamps (55 cents) No change in price for international forever stamps ($1.15) The only change that really affects me is that the additional ounce stamps are bumped up from 15 cents to 20 cents. And postcard stamps will go from 35 cents to 36 cents. All in all, not too bad this year! I won’t need to make a mad rush to the post office this year, before January 24th, to stock up on cheap stamps. I’m happy about this. www.google.com/amp/s/blog.stamps.com/2020/10/19/usps-announces-2021-postage-rate-increase-for-mailing-services/amp/

I’m pleased to hear that changes are minimal.

They have some nerve! Worse service for more money. No Joy DeJoy.
Well that messes up my 2 x 55c + 10c = $1.20 international.
Guess I'll need to use both a 5c grape and 10c apple, or just go for a brush rabbit (20c additional ounce) to get $1.36.
If non-machinable stays a 20c charge, you can still use a square butterfly and a regular stamp for the same $1.36.

Not sure how easy they are to get at your local post office.

Bob, too bad their skepticism is only advisory in nature. I like how the Postal Regulatory Commission gave a nod to customer service concerns. It doesn't seem like anyone else cares much about that.

"58 cents? Just make it 60 cents ffs!"
Ha, wait for the Jan 2022 notice.
Honestly, I know it makes no rational sense, but I'd rather see fewer and larger rate increases. Pick a price that'll get you through at least two years and charge that. I don't like change.

We had a big jump here in Ireland a few months back. International letters went up from €1.70 to €2! National was only a 10c jump to €1.10 but I send practically no domestic letters (and parcels which I would send are substantially more) so it was really the international hike which hit me. Same for me to post a letter to someone in the UK as to the Australia or the US. At least we don't get charged more for using wax seals or irregular envelope sizes (up to A5) and up to 100g instead of the 28g (1 ounce) which seems so be the standard for US? I'd go nuts if I had to weigh my letters to make sure I had enough postage... I think i can safely say that my letters are never even close to 100g

I think I’d rather see 60 cents instead of 58 only because after an experiment, I realized I strongly dislike pennies.

I think i can safely say that my letters are never even close to 100g Our postage prices are by the ounce, with the exception of domestic postcards (size-constrained) and the magical “four-ounce letter” which is not only size-constrained but the limit is 3.5oz/100g. The first ounce costs the most; incremental ounces cost less. We also have surcharges for non-machinable letters, which means they can be square or not uniformly thick. In the past those were different, but as of now it’s similar to an additional ounce. While we have a universal price for international letters weighing one ounce or less, the logic behind international letters over one ounce boggles the mind; it’s something I have to consistently look up if and when it happens.

Pick a price that'll get you through at least two years and charge that. I don't like change. Indeed. 60 cents would make it easier to quickly calculate the cost of a sheet of stamps, make change, etc. The postal rate commission expressed skepticism that this price increase would help the Postal Service out of the current crisis. US Postal rates are a good deal compared with those in other countries. La Poste charges €1.28 ($1.50) to mail first-class letter weighing up to 20 g. International is €1.50 ($1.76) for up to 2 kg. Canada charges 1.07 Canadian ($ 0.85 US) for a first-class stamp for up to 30 g. International is 2.71 Canadian ($2.15 US) for a stamp for up to 30 g.
