My standard letter enclosure is a teabag. It’s a way of having conversation over tea with my pen friends. I would like to hear what others are including with their letters if that’s your practice.

I’ve included bookmarks and I really like the idea of quotes done in calligraphy. Those two things could be united easily. Thanks for the inspiration, dignum.

Never have as far as I can remember, not even a tea bag although I did post an entire box of boxes of tea bags to a friend in the USA once.

I usually don't do enclosures, though I will sometimes send vintage postcards or other random ephemera and things to pen pals I think will appreciate them. I think I've only ever sent a teabag once to a pen pal, but that's been a long time ago now. I'm not much of a tea drinker (unless you're talking iced tea), so it's one of those things that never occurs to me.

I receive lots of random ephemera that I would never even think to enclose. I’m not sure if my tea bags are a rut or a signature enclosure.

I've sent washi tape, stickers, tea bags, small goodies that correspond to what the pen pal's interests or hobbies are; once I sent a box of Crane stationery. I have one friend that I've known since college and we send each other random care packages - completely out of the blue and filled with silly and cute thing we think the other will enjoy, especially since we're both Michael's and Staples crackheads. ;-)

I hope you two keep it up through the years.

I've participated in tea swaps (e.g. send 1-2 bags each to a group and vice versa). I enjoyed it for the most part. I mostly don't send anything else, though at the rate I've acquired things maybe I need to start shipping some things out.

Wow, that’s variety. Now that I’ve taken up bookbinding small notebooks would be a nice, personal item.
