I assume you have to agitate the ink while writing to get that amount of gold?
I have the red, blue, and gray glitter inks, and I found it a bit tedious to constantly stop and agitate the pen to keep the gold particles flowing.

I *think* it was about a 1:1? IT might have been a bit more heavy on the blue, but I suppose it depends on the shade of blue. I used Kobe's Van Gogh Cobalt, and because it is a lighter shade (though VERY vibrant), I could use a bit more of it than if I had used a darker blue (like Diamine Midnight Blue). A good rule of thumb is the darker the ink, the less you need to add to the mix.
I did mix the Stormy Grey with Maruzen Eternal Blue once, and everyone I showed absolutely loved it, raved about it even. Personally, I liked it, but I wanted something brighter. More like the EoC/KVG mix, actually.

Have to admit I love the shimmer inks... but have not been successful with clearing out the residual gold dust from the pen. Any advice?

Advice? Only use pens where the nib & feed can be easily removed for cleaning. Pilot 78G, Knight, Metropolitan, Prera are particularly easy. Or the Parallel, of course.
So... what pen are you trying to clean? If it's c/c, then a bulb syringe should do about all that can be done. Possibly let the section soak in a mild solution of ammonia for an hour or so (I use a 2oz shotglass and maybe 1:10 industrial (10%?) ammonia to water. Just water is better than nothing. You can add a drop of dish soap but then you have to be really thorough about rinsing it out, lest your next fill of ink flow a bit more freely than usual.

It's a cheapie Jinhao so if it has to be tossed so be it. But I'll give the ammonia idea a go!

Nib & feed are friction fit in most Jinhaos (the ones with regular non-hooded nibs) so you can probably, with care, pull them if needed.
