I went to reorder the Solar stamps just now. All gone. I love those stamps! Sigh, USPS will hang onto the ugly ones forever.

My local postal worker told me they have a set number of printings, and when they’re gone, they’re gone. That’s why the good ones go fast and the ugly ones hang around “in stock” forever. The Christmas ones are only printed at Christmas time, so that’s why the cool ones like winter berries, winter birds, and winter scenes all sell out in like mid-January. I’m going to try to remember to restock my favorite winter ones (otters?) before then, if I need more. (ok, let’s be honest, if I *want* more😂)

I’d also been planning to get the inkvent calendar this year, but some unforeseen expenses (ahem, flooding) made me rethink that. This was probably for the best, because I probably, definitely have enough ink…maybe…at least for a little while.

I figured that was the case. Sigh. All the good ones are taken. I checked at my post office for you today. They’re all sold out there, too. Otherwise I’d have picked up a sheet for you. (And maybe one for me too…but since it didn’t happen, I can pretend I have lots of self control and definitely would NOT have bought any more stamps)

katiel, Hahahahaha! I second that! I ordered more sugar skulls to fill my need for more black stamps. And I might have purchased more of some others…

Once upon a time, I read on another forum of a person who wanted to write a letter to a friend. But there was no paper in the house. No envelopes. No nothing.
And no way to go out and attain some (said person living in an isolated region, whereas I am not).
I had plenty of paper before this, trust me. But this terrifying scenario kicked my hoarder-y gland into Panic Mode. It's completely out of hand, and must stop. This instant.
Washi tape. Yeah. Please don't buy the dots. I love the dots, but they are hard to handle and dry out in an eyeblink.

I snorted. I only counted because Jason wanted to know. I hated to tell him. But, he's the one who encouraged me to order the Inkvent calendar. I got a surprise rebate gift card because I switched brands of contact lenses, so I bought the calendar.

Papers yes. I ordered 9 packs of discontinuing Tomoeriver from a store in Japan and shipped to my parents address so I will pick them up next time when I visit. That should last a while? But bunch of other papers, notebooks, stationeries, airmail envelopes, scrapbooking papers, decorative papers. Washi is under control for me. Postage stamps - 2021 was the year I bought way more than other years. As far as US forever stamps this year had good ones, don’t you think? And throw inks into the equation. I had maybe 10 nice inks pre COVID, and they grew to over s-i-x-t-y. (someone else, please confess too) Oh and I just got Inkvent calendar, 25 new inks are just what I need It seems the shutdown inspired all manner of bingeing. Are we talking full bottles or innocent little sample vials?

I’m talking about bottles, and as far as innocent little sample vials I’m sure there are at least two dozen of those, too

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but paper is part of our supply chain woes here in the States - at least that's what I read. And then promptly went out and bought paper and more notebooks - because the current stash I have would only last me through part of the apocalypse. Now I understand why they used to write on both sides of the stationery and even on the sides!
I love scouring thrift stores and yard sales for vintage paper/stationery as well. Just came home with a haul of notecards and such last weekend.
Inkvent calendar? Darn it all, now I'll have to look that up...!
Oh no . . . I looked it up....

I am in the midst of Swedish Death Cleaning and am ruing the times I went to Europe with an extra suitcase just to return with local greeting cards. I could send the entire board a greeting card every day until my death and my "posterity" will be left annoyed at all those thousands of oddly-shaped cards with Meerkats drinking Guinness, the Queen Mother drinking her G &. T, the hairy coombs dancing about the haggis, etc.
While I cannot offer you strength or hope, I can offer experience: you can totally use a carry-on for the papers and cards instead of steamer-trunks like I did.
