The Zebra G nibs are fine, if you rinse and dry them (not left on a pen that is feeding ink). The disposable thing for me is that the needle tip wears down over time. It still writes, but the line isn't as fine. Some like it broken in so there are less catches of the tip on your paper (a super fine nail buffer can do this in a hurry).

I got Zebra G nibs, amongst others that I have been using for years with no signs of wear at all, so it won't be a huge additional expense for you but MKB is right, make sure you dry them out and do not leave them in a wet pen!
