Has the international rate gone into effect? I thought I had heard it went into effect tomorrow but when I checked the USPS website it said 'proposed'. I would like to know as well before I send out any international mail.

I would like to know as well before I send out any international mail. It looks like the USPS online International Postage Price Calculator is taking the higher rate into account (as I post this).

Also, thanks you for making me think about color coordinating stamps, something that would have never crossed my mind. Now I have to start sorting my stamps and pairing them with envelopes... if you need me I'll be buying stamps on Ebay. A whole new thing to be concerned with! Haha! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to send you down that road, too. 😂 and you’re welcome about the rate hike info. Since it was only the international rate that changed, I guess it wasn’t as widely publicized?

Global 1-oz USPS rate is now $1.20 as of yesterday (1/26). This rate still includes a second ounce to Canada. Second/additional ounce rates are still country-dependent so check the USPS tables before sending a letter over an ounce. Still a 3.5oz/~100g limit for a letter.

I spied on a stamp forum that there'll be a new global stamp - Chrysanthemum. I am led to believe it will come out in April. Good. I am tired of that succulent.

Unpopular opinion but I think the succulents are the best international global stamp they’ve done so far. I’ll reserve judgement on the new one until I get my hands on a sheet.

I thought the succulent was the best international, too, though the moon was cool, too. The christmas-y flower one was cool in December (or Nov even) but wasn't a fan of using it in the Summer. I really need to just use my regular stamps, and the Walt Whitman, for international, but I keep being lazy about doing the math to figure out what adds up so long as I still have any of the round internationals.

Yeah, I think a lot of us letter writers could use as many international stamp designs as domestic, but in general I imagine they don't sell that many of the internationals. Which, is why I probably shouldn't use so many, but I was given about 30 of them, and don't wanna do simple addition, so I keep using them.
