Wow! How did I not even have a clue that these stamps were coming out?!? Picked up a set for me and a set for the boys at the post office, and the boys are so excited that they decided they *had* to send out some Postcrossing cards tonight to use them. As a side note, they look way better on an envelope or card, rather than on this sheet.

I thought it's kind of weird that they don't say HotWheels on the individual stamps. It occured to me when sending out some international things.... does anyone else care about HotWheels? Kind of like Mr. Rogers, isn't it? An indigenous cultural icon. Lol.

I just noticed that yesterday, too! I wonder if the people I’ve been sending them to internationally are thinking, “What the heck are these???” Because, admittedly, some of them are pretty weird looking.

So, who has (or members of their family has) actual Hotwheels hiding away?!! Who will admit to playing with them?

I had Hotwheels as a kid. I might even have a couple Superman themed ones left in a box in the attic. There was a much cheaper class of die cast cars that were produced when I was young and most of my cars were of that brand. They were not as pretty but much stronger built so withstood being buried in the dirt, flying through the air or being crashed into each other better than the Hotwheels cars. I mostly recall the wheels on Hotwheels cars not turning because the thin metal axle had been bent by kids exerting too much pressure on the cars as they vroom, vroomed them around.

I admit I didn't play with them. They came out after... my time. I did, however, get into building model cars and racing slot cars. Those stamps would be nice to use on postcards to kids....

Closest I've got is one that came with a 48 pack of RayOVac AA batteries from Lowes hardware. Lionel, not Hotwheels. Can't say I _play_ with it, but it's out on a shelf and not in the trash (or donated to a neighborhood kid, if kids play with anything other than video games these days) The white specks on it are from when my sweetie decided that white spraypainting parts of the ceiling was a Good Idea. It got all over all the pens that were out, and everything else. Fortunately it rubbed off of most things with a little water and a towel (two Pilot 823s! Several M200s! Many TWSBIs!) except for the top external hard drive in the stack. I presume that's because the drive runs pretty warm, whereas everything else was room temperature.

So, who has (or members of their family has) actual Hotwheels hiding away?!! Who will admit to playing with them? We have Hotwheels in the house...out of the puppy's reach at the moment. When my ex-husband brings his youngest two daughters to visit our 3, the puppy goes in his room (too big/affectionate around the 1 year old) and the Hotwheels get a bit of use. They constructed a "fairy village" at the edge of the woods and the Hotwheels made an appearance there.

I still have all my hot wheels/matchbox cars someplace at my parents. I'm sure once I have kids, they'll get plenty of use again.
