I do use a seal - I think they're fun. Mine is the coat of arms that's also my avatar here. Technically I'm not really entitled to use it, officially, since it's from my family on my mother's side... but what the heck, and I'm in the States anyway. The seal itself I had made by Dexter Rings, which was quite pricey but they do far and away the best, most detailed work of anyone I could find.

It has been a while since I last sealed with wax. I have 3 letters ready for posting tomorrow with seals.

It has been a while since I last sealed with wax. I have 3 letters ready for posting tomorrow with seals. I have the same set that you have, Mia. I find that if I am sending letters one at a time, I won't drag it out. But if I have several to send, I will use it.

I find it now easier to use a spoon and heat wax in that. I recently bought wax hearts as a handy measure for wax. I also bought a couple more coins - a different design for my initial, and also the inkwell/quill.

I haven't set fire to a letter for a while... but today I received some wax hearts in a bottle, I ordered. However, the CN22 customs declaration form said it was a phone case.

Now I have to hunt for soft wax I got three wax sticks with wick from Amazon recently for 9€ incl. postage. You should be able to find it by searching for "gravurart". They offer lots of different colours.

On the Snail Mail Geeks discord server, someone posted a link to a wax seal videos, from a company called LetterSeals.com www.letterseals.com/pages/how-to-use-sealing-waxesI've watched a couple of the videos, and my initial thoughts: big spoon; too much wax. Who was it who posted a wax seal video on Instagram?

I have used sealing wax on occasion. I notice a lot of the letters I've received with sealing wax have been abraded by the postal sorting machines. There is a video at this site: www.jetpens.com/blog/wax-seal-how-to/pt/886 showing how to use the seal. To me it seems that using so much wax with the high border around the stamped image is just asking for problems. I'm wondering if just using enough wax to give the stamp impression and using soft flexible wax would help. I notice even with the J. Herbin supple wax it is suggested that the letter be hand stamped.
