I was super happy to receive a copy of the Paper Lover's Flow magazine from my friend in Belgium. Also received 2 new bottles of ink... J. Herbin Stormy Grey and Diamine Oxblood. As I live in Ohio it seems fitting enough that I should get scarlet and grey ink. Would love to hear about everyone else's paper, pens, washi tapes, stickers and ink.

On a tight budget lately, but got a generous cash gift to get some clothes, with the understanding I'd probably get "some pen stuff". Maybe I should have bought the clothes first... oh well, a few pieces of what I have will have to remain a bit worn. eBay had a $30 Kaweco Liliput (bargain, usually $50, had to get M nib) now inked with Birmingham Westinghouse Alternator Crimson NOS Pilot Elite, yet uninked, with the thought that I might be able to sell the Pilot M90 that I bought at a normal price in '08 and which now is getting expensive enough aftermarket that I think twice about taking it out. The M90 is much nicer tho. Platinum Balance/Cool transparent blue M nib, to compliment the pink F nib one I've grown to rather like with Noodler's Shah's Rose ink. Like the 3776 pens, I "need" an F and M. Coming from Japan who knows when. Noodler's Dark Matter and Qin Shi Huang inks. Hope I get a good bottle of QSH. The last one settled out and got anemic within hours, and even mixed was never that dark. Asked the seller to check for me, and send Walnut instead if any doubts. Birmingham Pen Co 30mL ea. 16 ink set from Birmingham Pen Co. (color swatches made here, plus the 15 Robert Oster sample set from the Summer) Link: swatch imagePen Chalet's 3 for 2 Monteverde 30mL in Red Velvet, California Teal, and Olivine; plus Diamine's new Earl Grey. $50 free shipping (good marketing ploy, I just wanted the 3 inks) tempted me into adding a pretty well discounted, but superfluous SS Lamy Logo F nib pen I plan to ink with the Earl Grey. I love my Lamy CP1 EF from 2011, and this looks like the same pen in shiny metal instead of matte black. Ordered on Christmas, so not here yet. Barnes & Noble had a half price sale on a pink (magenta, officially) large ruled soft cover moleskine, so had to get that. Seems the color is discontinued. They have Orchid, but that's darker and more purple. A very good end to a couple of years of not spending much on the hobby. Though, that did get me to try some of the new $2-$10 Chinese eBay pens, most of which have been really good.

I had a pretty good year for letter writing themed gifts. In addition to the things I got earlier, on Christmas morning I found some cool rolls of washi tape, and a neat set of animal postcards in my stocking, and a really pretty vine-y stationary set under the tree. Later, at the celebration with a Jeffâs family, Jeffâs brother gave me an entire BOX of stationary stuff for Christmas! An astronomy stationary set, a set of valentines-y heart paper (which most of you will probably see in February), an adorable set of bluebird stationary, a BIG set of wild animal postcards, and a really cute set of birthday/cake/candy postcards. I think I was literally in heaven. I have the best family ever! I think I got more writing supplies than I could possibly use in a year - but that wonât stop me from trying!
