I find myself using various papers for letter writing. Some I do not know where it came from (writing tablets). I like onion skin paper, Strathmore Writing, and L!fe paper. Recently I have been using lined paper, before I used a guide sheet under blank paper. All of my paper needs to be fountain pen friendly
What are your favorite papers, lined or unlined? Do you ever buy stationery sets?

I have both lined and unlined paper - for me it's more about the design than about the lines (those who know me probably realise I'm mostly into floral designs!). Every once in a while, I use blank paper and decorate it with stickers. Most of the time, I don't use guide sheets - I find them limiting *lol*
I haven't come across many papers that aren't fountain pen friendly, fortunately! Some are a bit thin, so the writing shines through - needless to say, I'm not happy with that!
Regarding stationery sets... that depends. I find that most have a bad sheet/envelope ratio - I mean, seriously, who writes only one sheet A5? Or worse, one PAGE A5 (because the back is decorated and you cannot write legibly on it)... - that's ridiculous. So when I have a set, I usually add extra sheets - plain white or coloured paper, usually decorated with stickers in sync with the 'theme' of the set.

I typically use lined paper (left-handed underwriter). Mead Writing Tablet in 6x9-inch works really well for me and it's inexpensive, plus I can use standard No. 6-3/4 envelopes. If I want to go more upscale I'll go with Clairefontaine Triomphe (unlined) or Rhodia (lined).
One thing I do when I'm in Europe and have space in the suitcase is buy A5 paper if I can find it at a decent price. I'll usually skip places like McPaper (Germany) but if I can find a good shop I'll stop in and browse. Brunnen Block is inexpensive and a go-to, though I've also had other success finding different various pads. There's some linen paper from a paper factory in Dresden that I really like, but I try to conserve on its use.
I have written letters on hotel stationery if it's around. It's near impossible in the USA to find these days in any usable size. I haven't had much luck with Accor-branded hotels or any US-based hotels in Europe, though I have a couple of sheets of A4 from a Holiday Inn Express in Zurich still around, plus a few pads of A5 from the long-gone Swissotel Zurich I picked up from an estate sale.
I generally don't buy stationery sets, but I'll pick up packs of note cards if they strike my interest. I need to use them though!

I prefer lined but can work with blank sheets with guided lines. I often print lines on blank sheets myself. My favorites are Tomoeriver, Fidelity onion skin, Iroful, Midori MD, Graphillo, and L!fe. I buy stationery sets, too.

I'm finding myself appreciating Basildon Bond again. When I took up penpalling again, as an adult (after teenage attempts), I loved Basildon Bond Champagne. Now, I also like the A4 white sheets. The pads are plain paper but also come with a guide sheet but I do not use it.
