At first I put my total at around the 50 level as it feels like I didn't do much in 2020....but then when I remembered the 24 I sent out for Incowrimo.... Uh-oh.... You reminded me that... I forgot to add InCoWriMo 2020 letters when I posted my total. Where's that "Edit" button?!

My outgoing letter statistics are not something I’ve ever tallied. That said, this year I’ve made a page in the bullet journal for tracking my output.
I really can’t say I’ve had any change to my lifestyle due to Covid, except for the masks and having been sick with it for a few days so I don’t think it’s affected me either way as far as letter writing. My replies in 2020 were much slower due to new time constraints, not having to do with the virus.

My documented total is 70. I didn't make a note when I sent out the youngest daughter's graduation announcements so I know there are gaps in my log.
I know the pandemic impacted my letter writing. Although the library closed to the public for a while we were still working our regular 40 hours to do phone reference and pull holds for curbside pickup and I was tasked with switching the summer learning program to fully virtual in just a few short weeks. Add 3 remote learners, a stretch of solo empty nest time, a temporary (currently in month 6) work location switch plus house hunting (which is not going well) and it's probably no surprise this year's total is lower than the previous two. According to my log (kept in a spiral notebook), I didn't send anything in May or August.

I didn't start logging until September 12, and even at that, I was not very consistent. According to the log, between September 12 and December 31, I sent 150 letters. That didn't count Christmas cards and, as I mentioned, I wasn't very consistent with logging, so there were loads that weren't counted at all. I think the fact that I'm not working contributed more to the adoption of letter writing as a hobby and the accompanying output than the pandemic did. I only stayed home a little more than I might have without the pandemic. But, that's speculation. Who knows. Maybe if it weren't for the pandemic, I would have become a social butterfly.... Nah... LOL

You are absolutely correct, ginny , it’s not a competition. I asked out of curiosity, wondering where I fall on the “letter writing addiction” spectrum. 😊 I've been so absent-minded that I began logging letters TO people.
Of course, it would have helped if I had actually looked at it before writing my latest, as you may soon discover.
