Wow, these are fantastic! How wonderful it would be to receive a letter like that... in fact how wonderful to be creative enough to write a letter like that

I have both the book mentioned in the link and another much like it. You might look at Pen To Paper, Artists' Handwriten Letters, edited by Mary Savig. I believe both books make use of the Smithsonian's Archives of American Art as their source of the letters. I found that both the art work and script style very interesting. I got to wondering if Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz might have used the same pen, it appears both wrote with a fountain pen with an italic nib but their script styles were very different. Can you tell by their writing which letters were written using a dip pen and which with a fountain pen, of course the date they were written would give a clue? Both books are really fun to explore from the artistic, calligraphic, and content points of view.
Of course we could all start by doing a drawing or watercolor in the next letter we send out. Perhaps some day there would be a book Letter Art, By Members of AWoSM.

How fun! I enjoyed Warhol’s honesty. I identified with the map maker. That’s something I would do.
