I just retired a little Fabriano pocket notebook that has ridden in my back pocket for the past year. Well, the first page is marked 8May19... The paper is EcoQua with dots, and the back half of the notebook has perforations if you need to tear a page out and hand it to someone (I find that this is a thing that happens on occasion). It is rather frayed, wrinkled, warped, and the top corners are cut off so I can quickly thumb to the current page. Every page has little ink blobs where I closed it too quickly after writing a quick note in it. But, it's still very much of a piece and the staples are holding up nicely. This poor little thing has literally been sat on every day for a year. Its replacement is already starting to look a bit care worn... But, I have to give these little pocket notebooks a big thumbs-up for durability! They come in four packs and work out to a cost of maybe $3 each. I've already got my next set! cheers! One of these always lives in my pocket, and will last up to 3 or 4 months before being filled. I put a sticker on one cover to demark “ front ” , else I start working both ends towards the middle. my problem is that every time I see the little 4-packs in a shop, I experience FORO ( Fear Of Running Out. I don’t know if that’s a legitimate acronym, but it works for me). I wonder if I have enough left at home, and almost always buy more. Now I have enough inventory to survive until the next apocalypse. But I’ll likely buy still more when I see them next.

I just love William Hannah notebooks. Sometimes I swap the insert for a Tomoe River insert from Pebble Stationery Co. William Hannah do A6 and A5 books with interchangeable pages on a disc system too. But the pocket notebook goes everywhere with me and has room inside for a Kaweco Liliput fountain pen. What else could a guy ever need?

I've rarely met a notebook that I can resist. But then I never want to start writing in them for fear of ruining them. Oh, I know the feeling. I have a Really Useful box full of pristine notebooks, and a desk covered in random bits of paper!

Tbis thread could be a Bad Thing for me. I retired almost two years ago and I just counted the unused notebooks in the den. A dozen still. All I can say in defence is that it was a combination of bookstore, staff discount and me. Hmm. That reads more like a confession than an excuse.

So filpot introduced me to some new local notebooks - made in Wales. Arramu Notebooks made by jonnys_carramuzza on IG so I had to buy some! I have also ordered some more ink, just in case - Diamine Deep Dark Purple, Deep Dark Orange and Deep dark Red.
