I just fold the letter and the card or paper for my reply in a moleskine A5 cahier in the same mini-laptop bag that has the pens and sometimes an iPad for coffee shop trips. If I use up the sheet or the card, I figure I'd either stop and just watch Netflix, or use one of the perf'd pages in the notebook. There might still be a 5x7 piece of HP 32# paper in the pocket of the notebook, that's always nice to write on.

I'm in no danger of running out of paper.... but... I did have to buy some more paper (cheap in Hallmark, UK "outlet" store - 99p for 50 correspondence sheets, slightly smaller than A5... lightweight and reasonable with my fp/ink).

Running out of paper has happened to me, Ive just used what paper I’ve had and it becomes a really interesting letter for the recipient. I’ve even had to use shopping list pads.
I once received a letter of mishmash sizes and I loved it
