I’ve finished a whole bunch of stamp sheets these past 2 weeks - lighthouses, pink chrysanthemum international stamps, Snowy Beauties (flowers in the snow), George Morrison (abstract art), Piñatas, Love stamps (dove carrying a letter), Peanuts (Charlie Brown), Mariachi, Brush Rabbits, and school buses.
I’d say my stamp bag is a little thinner now, but a bunch of new stamps were released this week, so it won’t be for long. 🤣

On my trip away last week I did buy a bottle of ink made in Tasmania. I cant tell you any more because I left the bottle in the car on the mainland. Will have to finish reporting on Tuesday when I bring it back home. It is a mixture of gold and blue and is very exquisite, now to find a fountain pen to use it with. TWSBI just released a Dark Sapphire Eco. Mine just arrived, and the color is even more stunning in real life. Might that one work with your ink?

Just finished all my Christmas cards! I burned through 5 books of the snow globe stamps, and almost one book of the winter animal stamps. (This sounds like a lot, but I have a really big family and a lot of penpals - and the international ones all took 2 stamps, so that made them go pretty quickly)
I used tons of washi tape but somehow didn’t manage to finish off even a single roll. Maybe next year?

I just discovered a sheet of Tulip Blossoms stamps in the bottom of my stamp bag. It had a single tulip sticker left on it - conveniently the red and yellow one! I stuck that on a Fall themed envelope, and it looked fabulous. Well, *brushes off hands in a satisfied manner* that’s one less sheet of stamps in my stamp bag. Done and dusted!

Is it at the same website? Or a different one? I’m a little curious about this now. Maybe I should check it out…

The love birds with the envelopes are pretty cute too though.
(Maybe I should just say, “all of them!” 🤣)

Ooooo! So exciting! Of course, the Dragon ones, but also Garden Delights (hummingbirds! My grandma will love those!), Autumn colors, Sea turtles, and Shaker designs.
But most of all, I’m looking forward to those circular pin back ones! They are so colorful and cute!!!

I finished a roll of blue flowered washi tape this week, and also a sheet of the brush rabbit stamps. I just found out that they don’t sell those anymore, so to add additional postage for international letters, now I have to use the really bright yellow school bus stamp. While this will be great for Fall, it might not look as nice on my Christmas cards. I’m so bummed out, because I loved that rabbit stamp.
I also finished a sheet of the Life Magnified stamps, and the Train Station stamps.
I’m having a great time using all of my fall stationery, but haven’t used up any of that, yet. 🙂

I know I’ve been MIA…lots going on personally, nothing awful, just a lot. But I had to jump on and ask this question: Have any of you postcrossers ever received a postcard with a lock of hair taped on? I’m a little disconcerted and wondering if this is come cultural thing that I am unaware of. Did you ever find out? I’ve had one that asked me to paint my favorite nail polish on the card (I painted a couple), and I think I had the one that asked for a lipstick kiss too (which I did not do). But yeah, I think human hair would have weirded me out a little.

I took a bunch of partial (nearly empty) stamp sheets on vacation with me, and finished off a bunch of stamp sheets mailing postcards. I was pretty proud of myself for emptying out my stamp bag a little bit! (but to be honest, it’s still very fat).
I finished off:
2 sheets of Endangered Animal stamps 1 sheet of Artist Roy Lichtenstein stamps 1 sheet of James Webb Space Telescope stamps 1 sheet of additional ounce Brush Rabbit stamps
Five sheets done! Not bad! I think I only have 3 Strega Nona stamps left too, so those are getting close as well. Now, there should be room for the Microscopic Life stamps coming out next week! It’s a never ending cycle - my stamp bag will probably never get truly thinner. 🤣

Cleaning out my writing room, I found (in a stack of old papers) a sheet of National Park stamps (2016), with one stamp left on it. I promptly used it to help mail a letter to Canada.
So, 7 years after starting to use that sheet of stamps, I finally finished it. 🤣 Has anyone else found an old sheet of stamps they forgot about somewhere?

I used up the last of my Snowy Beauty stamps (flowers in the snow), and the very last one of my Mystery Message stamps (is that what those ones were called, with the patch-work quilt design of blocks with squiggly letters?) (ok, yes it is, this one: about.usps.com/newsroom/national-releases/2021/images/mystery-message-forever-stamp.jpg ) I *would* feel sad about finishing two sheets of stamps that I loved, BUT two sheets of the new Skateboard stamps arrived today, and as a former skater girl, I’m super excited about these ones!

I haven't finished anything off recently, but I'm sure close on a lot of different items. Ditto on this! But I did finish off a book of elephant stamps recently (don’t worry, I bought more)(because I have a problem, lol)

l was a postcrosser for a while. I got a couple of nice cards but found that about the only countries I got to send to were Russia and China. It seemed like the Chinese recipients seldom registered the postcards so I'm not sure they were ever received. Also postcards were one off with limited information about the sender. I gave up on poscrossing and starting letter writing which I find much more satisfying. I suppose it might be fun if you were into postcard and stamp collecting. I think that’s my problem I ticked the same country box and got 1 UK 1 USA and 1 Russia but looking at the stats there are way more Russian members than even US members etc And now that the US can’t send mail to Russia, all the other countries, like yours, are now probably getting an influx of addresses to Russia, to make sure that all the Russians, waiting for postcards get matched. I also found Postcrossing a little frustrating at the beginning, because you had to wait so long for your cards to arrive, before you could send other ones. But pretty quickly you’re allowed to send more and more cards, and it becomes more fun because you can send a card whenever you want. I also found that the more ideas you give people for the types of postcards that you’d like to receive, the more amazing and unexpectedly cool postcards you get. And the more you write about yourself and in your profile, the more people seem to write on their postcards to you. Yeah, sure, occasionally you still get a blah card, or one that just says “Happy Postcrossing” but for me, those are very rare. I also started doing little watercolor doodles on my postcards too (they’re not always great, because my art skills are questionable - but if they’re too ugly, that’s okay, I just send them away and never have to look at all my mistakes again, haha!). Hopefully the recipient will get a laugh or a smile out of them, too. But creating a little bit of art for each person, has me enjoying sending postcards just as much as receiving them. Anyway, I enjoy Postcrossing. I haven’t had time to send any cards since before Christmas, but since I’m off work today, maybe I’ll send some out before the blizzard hits this afternoon. Thanks everyone, this thread was a great reminder of how much I enjoy it, and that I should get back into it!
