I just had a really busy few days. I like to sit down and savor my letters, really enjoy them. In order to do that, I found myself hoarding my unopened letters over several days until I could find a quiet time to to read them. Anyone else do that or do you dive right in when you receive them?

Imagine a puppy with the biggest saddest eyes you've ever seen, that's me every time the postman brings me nothing but junk! I couldn't possibly wait, as soon as a letter hits the mat I'm on it. Even the cat had to wait to be fed when I got a letter this week, she was not amused!

I wait for a nice quiet moment too. Usually it will still be the same day, sometimes the next.

I read (almost) straight away, then I can contemplate what to say and also to look out for stuff of interest by the time I actually reply. The letters then get read again just before I put pen to paper.

I read right away if I can. Sometimes it has to wait for later other tmo. I like thinking about it a bit.

Letters are opened when I bring them into the house, but then set aside to breathe and aclimatize (sp?) while the anticipation builds. (I would have aced the marshmallow test). Then they get read for the first time, often rather quickly. Then they're set aside to continue to ripen until the opportunity to read them at a leasurely pace whilst jotting notes in the margins.

I also read mine twice, once upon arrival (when I have quiet time) and the second time before I respond. I never thought about jotting notes in the margins! But, I have been known to put post-it notes on the envelope so I remember things I want to mention.

I often find myself pre-writing the letters while waiting at the check-out in the supermarket or in similar situations, especially if I got emotionally involved with the contents or someone has asked an interesting question. I mostly already start responding to the letter while I read it for the second time.

I put my letters aside to read later in a quiet moment, but most of the time the requirements for that 'quiet moment' vary so that I can read the letter rather sooner than later. So I don't read them at once, since I collect them directly from the post office, but as soon as possible and usually on the same day.

I read mine when I first receive the letter, and again when I'm writing a response.

About half the time I read it the same day, and always again while replying. I feel a little bad that some letters do wait a good while to get read, but it's so nice to have a few "surprises" in the file. 5Q5L, by their nature, get read the same month, at least.

I read mine right away! I go home for lunch so that I can grab the mail and let the dogs outside. If the weather's nice I'll sit outside with the dogs and read my mail. Otherwise I sit inside and read. But I never wait.

I normally wait until I get home before reading letters (all my mail goes to a post office box) but I have been known to stand at the postbox and read them

I read mine when I first receive the letter, and again when I'm writing a response. Same here. But my memory being what it is at my "advanced" age 😆 it's like reading a brand new letter the second time around.
