US Post Office, announced that for 2016 several new releases coming up. There will be series of stamps celebrating 50 years of Star Trek. Then a series of stamps based on the Mars lunar landing this past year.

Oh, I want the Star Trek stamps! I've already got the Harry Potter ones from the US and a Lord of the Rings stamp from New Zealand.
Other than that I have a strange liking for stamps displaying royalties. I've got some from Jamaica (British royalties) and the Netherlands. But I don't collect stamps systematically any more. I'm just happy about the little treasures that I receive from penpals.

Live long and prosper! Stamp preview and there's a pdf available for it too. The spacey stamps look good, fictional and orbital. Pumpkins too look good! One of the pets looks like a relative of the Grumpy Cat!

Each of the former colonies that elected to retain the Queen did so with her created by law as its own sovereign. So in Jamaica she is Queen of Jamaica, accompanied by the Jamaican Royal Family, similarly in New Zealand, Canada, etc. Kind regards, Timothy

the Queen of Britain with each of her sixteen or seventeen hats I'm afraid that Elisabeth has got more than just sixteen or seventeen hats. In 2003 I visited an exhibition in Kensington Palace, London, where a selection of her six hundred or seven hundred or so hats was displayed. It was actually much more interesting and funny than it sounds.

Looks like we get a new International Forever stamp - the Moon is an interesting choice. I was hoping it was going to be the planets, but I'll take the Moon. Glad to send something other than the heat map of the western hemisphere or the holiday wreath.

I've been looking to see if I can find more information about release dates. American Philatelic Society seems to have more details than the USPS site. The Moon Global forever is likely, I hope, to be released in February some time.

I'll probably pick up a few sheets of the Global Moons. I think they look much better than the wreaths.

From what I can tell all the old Global stamps must be sold out or have otherwise been withdrawn from service and are not for sale on the web. I have had to buy denominations to add up to $1.20. I t is a bit of a pain. I didn't love the old stamps and can't tell yet whether I'll like the new, but I prefer using one stamp to two or three.

I have resorted to using the butterfly non-machinable stamp plus a forever standard postage stamp. It's the correct postage, plus the butterfly works for my domestic irregular postings that are non-machinable. I do want to use the moon stamps when they come out, though.

The nice thing about 2 or 3 stamps is it makes the letter look more interesting and gives you a little leeway in customization. My letters are really boring plain envelopes so the only thing that is colorful at all is the stamp.
The wreath looked too much like a holiday thing, so was odd to use in August, and the heatmap was an ok sentiment, but it wasn't a very nice looking stamp.
I look forward to the moon one though and will buy a sheet when I am able. And still have several of the heatmap for now and some dollar stamps and smaller than .49 stamps that get me within a few cents of $1.20.

Yeah when I went to the post office they didn't have international forever stamps either. The guy said I could use 2 regular forever stamps & one extra ounce stamp. Hopefully that's true and I won't get mail kicked back.
