I usually received between 3 and 7 letters per week, depending on the month's period so let's Say 5 mer week on average. Then let's say I receive on average .71 letters a day. I usually write one a day, because I simply write rester than my penpals. How many pen pals do you have? Five or six, but I write 5Q every month

I love reading this kind of statistics and I did some calculations myself: in January-September 2020 I received 0,1 letters per day; each of my penpals wrote me almost 0,006 letters per day 😁😁😁 This year I am definitely a slower/lazier/whatever correspondent than in the past couple of years (someone here has been waiting for my news for a good while...) plus the lockdown. In addition, some penpals have been even slower than me, lately. In 2018 I set myself the goal of writing one letter per week but, although I sent a few more than I received, I am sure I won't reach 52 sent by the end of December. One does what one can do!

Here are my numbers, using my 2020 data: I have received 0.526 letters per day. Taking into account the 56 different people to whom I have written this year, I have received 0.01 letters/day/penpal. Not all 56 have become regular correspondents
My husband just came in and saw my list. I explained what it was and he just laughed and walked away.
Another interesting thing: 10 % of my regular pen pals are Mike/Michael. I write to FIVE Mikes. I keep them straight by referring to them by where the live.
Is this what happens when an extrovert enjoys letter writing? Also, no wonder it takes me so long to reply!

Five Mikes? There's quite a few Daves or Davids I write to! Oh and Mels (Melissas and Melanies).

That's amazingly close to the number I've received from my pen pals. But now I have to count my... Mikes.... Did you count them? Yes. I counted one Mike. Apparently, I have a shortage of Mikes. Or, you have a surplus.... The inequitable distribution of Mikes should be corrected!

motsamicaux, the strange thing is that I started writing to three of the Mikes within a month of each other. Two were random names that I pulled from the InCoWriMo list that particular year. Maybe I am subconsciously hoarding Mikes.

These days I just look forward to receiving one letter a week but more would be great. Writing letters and receiving them has kept me sane during these times.

Have you had a look at the October five questions posts? A good way to find some people to mail and get some replies back. Mia will be posting for the Nov five questions by the end of the month so keep an eye out for that too. Hopefully that should get some more letters arriving in your mailbox.
