There is an error in one of the Sherlock stamps. The violin bow... That must be on purpose. I wonder why.

As well as the Sherlock & Queen stamps I've ordered (not arrived yet) I put an order in *my first* with Philatelink and received 100 x 50p stamps on Saturday. Some are from the early 80's and I cannot remember them....and they're huge compared to the normal ones you buy in booklets so I'm looking forward to using them in the coming weeks

Today I bought some USPS "$5 Statue of Freedom Stamps." I've used the $1 and $2 versions before, but this is the first time I've had a use for, and bought, the $5 version. They all have the same 'quirky' illustration, but in different colors.

I bought some vintage unused stamps for my domestic Christmas cards. I'm also still waiting for the global poinsettia stamps I ordered to send out to my global pen friends.

I bought Christmas stamps, Mayflower in Plymouths, pink chrysanthemum international stamps and not enough 5 cent stamps. I use the 5 cent stamps along with regular forever stamps to make my letters to international friends a bit more interesting. I have been saving the international stamps I have been getting on letters and will enclose them in letters to my grandsons, hoping they will pique their interest in geography, world events and personalities, and letter writing.

I wonder if there is something like that here. Such a great selection!

I recently bought some pink chrysanthemum global stamps, stocked up on the 15 cent extra ounce stamps, some generic US flags to use on bills, and the Winter Scenes forever stamps

I recently bought a slew of vintage stamps thinking it would be fun to use them, but I ended up spending way too much just trying to get the stamps to add up to 55 cents. I'm going to try to use up all of these old stamps, and then I will go back to using the ones sold by USPS. I'm just not a vintage stamp person, apparently.

@ Insomnia Queen: In view of the fact that the USA international stamps available to me depict big, pink chrysanthemums, I preferred to mix and match various stamp denominations for use on my international Christmas cards this year. I do end up spending a few cents extra, but it still beats those not-Christmasy chrysanthemums. That sort of thing could be a good use for your mixed bag of orphan stamps.
